Dr Vivian Kuang is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with sub-specialty expertise in Medical Retina and Uveitis. She provides comprehensive ophthalmic and surgical management for a wide range of eye conditions, including:

  • Age related macular degeneration
  • Diabetic eye disease
  • Retinal vascular disorders
  • Inflammatory eye diseases
  • Cataract
  • Pterygium

Dr Kuang graduated medicine from Monash University in 2015 with First Class Honours, subsequently completing her specialist ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). In 2024, she was awarded the Noel and Imelda Foster Prize for her exceptional leadership and commitment to patient care at RVEEH, during her time as Chief Ophthalmology Registrar, a role in which she oversaw medical and surgical education, as well as supervision of ophthalmology trainees.

Upon obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) in 2025, Dr Kuang pursued subspecialty training in the United Kingdom. She completed a clinical fellowship at the Bristol Eye Hospital, sub-specialising in Uveitis under the mentorship of Professor Andrew Dick, and Medical Retina under the mentorship of Ms. Clare Bailey.

Continuing her passion for mentoring the next generation of ophthalmologists, as well as ongoing clinical excellence, Dr Kuang also holds public consultant appointments at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Bayside Health (The Alfred Hospital).
